MOBILITY

Real-life situations:

Trade
I have to wait until the end of the day to send all the orders to headquarters. Sometimes I have to call when the order is urgent. Even worse, I have to go back to headquarters to fill out forms. What a waste of time!

Management
I fill out the forms again and again as I go. Then I send them to another department and there they have to write the same stuff again on a PC. Typing mistakes are often made.

Data collection
It is not practical for me to always carry a laptop when collecting data in the fieldwork. I would need something more handheld, but with the full performance of a laptop. I would need something more handheld, but with the full performance of a laptop.

I constantly get a lot of important messages. Some of them by SMS, others by email. Would it be possible to join together all these information access channels? I get lost finding the data I’m looking for.

Transport
When I am on my delivery route I have to stop and call the offices to check if there are any nearby shipments to be picked up, so I don’t have to go back to the same area.

Health
I’m visiting patients in their homes, it would be great to access their hospital-based medical information.

What does mobility bring to my business?
Firstly, a concept of mobility: when applied to the data exchange world, it refers the company, its employees and partners capacity to work while they are moving around, as much as they are in the offices.

It avoids to wait to process the information, saving time and preventing failures.

Mobility:
Avoids waiting to call or being called to process information, because the devices automatically receive messages from a computer application, not from a person

Removes or reducesthe data rewriting on forms. This saves time and avoid mistakes as soon as the data is introduced.
